UPDATE, 1:45 a.m ET: Mitchell’s team confirmed on her website that the singer was “found unconscious in her home this afternoon. She regained consciousness on the ambulance ride to an LA area hospital. She is currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits. More updates to come as we hear them. Light a candle and sing a song, let’s all send good wishes her way.”

ORIGINAL STORY: Singer Joni Mitchell was hospitalized on Tuesday after a 911 call was placed to her Los Angeles home, according to TMZ.

The site reports that the 71-year-old was taken into intensive care after a call for an unconscious female was made, but she reportedly was “alert” on the way to the hospital.

A rep for Mitchell and a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.
