Smashing Pumpkins explore PTSD in 'Drum + Fife' video
The Smashing Pumpkins have shared a second music video from last year’s Monuments to an Elegy. The aptly-titled “Drum + Fife” follows a group of children fighting in a desert, and illustrates the effects of wartime collateral damage and PTSD.
In a press release, frontman Billy Corgan explained his desire for the video to allegorically represent what America’s soldiers go through upon returning home. “I couldn’t be more proud of the message we’re sending that we care what happens to those that are out there hurting,” he said.
