High school bands rarely last past graduation, but the Leeds quartet Marsicans have kept it together, and in the course of four years have refined a sound that infuses Britpop with a little Vampire Weekend-style globalism. In the process they’ve gone from playing local shows to playing, well, much bigger local shows—they’ll be playing this year’s Live at Leeds festival along with pretty much every notable indie band in the U.K.

The band’s been generating a growing amount of buzz with the handful of EPs and singles they’ve released so far. On April 18, Record Store Day, they’ll drop a new single, “Gone in a Second.” In preparation for its release they’re sharing the song’s video, which uses layered footage of the band to create a pleasing psychedelic effect.
