Oh Honey releases bubbling new single 'Sugar, You'
Mitchy Collins and Danielle Bouchard, who produce music together as Oh Honey, pull off a neat little trick—they make delicate sound strong. “Sugar, You” calls to mind Of Monsters and Men (but with less instruments because, honestly) with its light stomp and pretty harmonies begging you to sing along. “It’s a feel good song. Everyone has that person in their life—you only know from a distance and you just know something could happen if you got to know them better,” says Bouchard.
The duo is on the third of four EPs in their “Postcard Series,” this one’s called Wish You Were Here (available here). Rather than debut with an album, they’re putting out shorter collections. “I just feel like with today—the singles world—no one cares about an album unless you’re an Adele or top-tier artist. And when do you put out an album, people only care about four songs, and that’s if you’re lucky. So the thought process behind this was, we’re a new band, still touring, still building our roots, rather than putting one out and saying to the fans that are there, ‘Here’s a bunch of songs for the next two years,’ every four months there’s new music from us.”
Oh Honey has toured with The Fray and James Blunt, and they kick off their first headlining tour Tuesday night at L.A.’s The Roxy. A full list of dates is below. Tickets to each are linked on their website.
