Muse shared the lead single off their upcoming seventh studio album, Drones (due June 9), on Monday. Titled “Dead Inside,” the track is—according to lead singer Matthew Bellamy via Consequence of Sound—”where the story of the album begins, where the protagonist loses hope and becomes ‘Dead Inside’, therefore vulnerable to the dark forces introduced in ‘Psycho’ and which ensue over the next few songs on the album, before eventually defecting, revolting and overcoming these dark forces later in the story.” The brooding song’s official lyric video is streaming below.

The group shared another track, Psycho, in their album announcement earlier this month.
