Slanting light, beautiful couples, mezmerizing dancing—did Hozier just out-do his last video? “Work Song” is the Irish singer-songwriter’s new international single; it’s as cavernous and haunting as “Take Me To Church,” replete with lapsed-Catholic ruminations (“In the low lamp light I was free / Heaven and hell were words to me”) and professions of love only someone who’s felt it might understand (“No grave can hold my body down / I’ll crawl home to her”).

The video is transfixing and simple—just a guy on a stage in an abandoned church (because, obviously) surrounded by dancers—and hasn’t that been the beauty of Hozier all along?
