The script for Robin Hood: Origins has just been picked up by Lionsgate, adding to a slew of Robin Hood-themed movies hitting Hollywood in the near future. Joby Harold wrote the script, which Deadline reports is an “edgier” take on the tale of the do-gooder thief.

Set in the same era as Robin Hood, Harold also wrote the script for Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur, which is set to star Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou, and Eric Bana.

Other Robin Hood projects in the works include Disney’s Nottingham & Hood, a revisionist version of the story, similar to Enchanted; Sony’s Hood, which Deadline describes as “Fast and Furious meets Mission: Impossible. It’s not as though we were short on Robin Hood films before, either: there was a 1908 silent picture, a 1938 take starring Erroll Flynn, the Rat Pack’s Robin and the Seven Hoods, Disney’s 1973 cartoon, Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Patrick Bergen’s Robin Hood, and of course the classic spoof, Robin Hood: Men in Tights
