'Mortal Kombat X': Jason Voorhees to be playable fighter
The next kombatant for Mortal Kombat X has been revealed, and there’s no better day for his arrival than Friday the 13th.
Developer NetherRealm has announced that Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th film franchise will be a playable fighter in the next Mortal Kombat. He’ll be available as a downloadable character in the “Kombat Pack” of additional content.
That pack will be available for $29.99, which also comes with two classic Mortal Kombat fighters and another surprise guest. The pack will also include fighter skins so players can fight as Ronin Kenshi, Samuari Shinnok, and Jingu Kitana. All of this content will be available individually, but those who purchase the pack will receive the content early.
Jason follows in the footsteps of another classic horror icon, Freddy Krueger, who appeared in the 2011 Mortal Kombat as a downloadable character.
Mortal Kombat X will hit PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on April 14, as well as mobile platforms sometime in April.
