Mark Goffman steps down as showrunner of 'Sleepy Hollow'
Coming off a much-debated second season, Fox’s Sleepy Hollow has received some bad news. A source tells EW that Sleepy Hollow showrunner, Mark Goffman, has stepped down.
Goffman had been the showrunner for the show’s entire run, including its highly successful first season, its ratings struggle in season 2, and that season 2 finale, which left many fans hopeful that the show was returning to its former glory.
Although the show is not yet renewed for a third season, Fox TV chairman and CEO Dana Walden spoke about their plans to fix the show during the TCA press tour, noting how they’d like the show to be less serialized moving forward and have a lighter tone.
Of course, with the news of Goffman’s exit, a third season is now highly dependent on finding a new showrunner.
