HBO partners with Apple to launch standalone streaming service
HBO announced Monday that it will lauch HBO Now, a standalone streaming service, in April in an exclusive partnership at launchwith Apple. The service will cost $14.99 a month, but those who sign up in April will get a 30-day free trial period.
When the service launches, subscriptions will be available through the HBO Now app on Apple devices and through Apple TV. Those who subscribe will also be able to watch on HBONOW.com
“HBO NOW is the next phase of innovation at HBO,” HBO CEO Richard Pepler said in a statement. “With this new partnership, a natural evolution for the network, we have access to millions of Apple customers who are used to getting their favorite apps immediately. Now, they can do the same with an HBO subscription.”
