Justified executive producer Dave Andron has been tapped to adapt the upcoming sci-fi novel Stone Rider for Working Title, EW has confirmed.

Andron’s script will be based on David Hofmeyr’s novel, which is set for a July 2015 release. Deadline first reported the news.

Hofmeyr’s debut draws inspiration from Mad MaxThe Road, and even the work of Elmore Leonard, whose writing was also the basis for Justified, as it explores the life of Adam Stone. Rider follows Stone as he seeks to free himself from his dust-bowl town Blackwater, which he attempts to do by racing the Blackwater Trail.

Andron has been with Justified since its first season, first serving as a writer before moving into producer roles with the show. His familiarity with the property, which is based on the Elmore Leonard story Fire in the Hole, should help in the adpatation process for a project with similar inspirations.

No date has yet been set for Stone Rider.
