Anika Noni Rose has landed the leading role in CBS’ For Justice, EW has confirmed.

Based on James Patterson’s debut novel, The Thomas Berryman Number, the drama follows Special Agent Natalia “Nat” Chappel (Rose), a cool, laser-focused, tough-as-nails FBI agent who works in the Criminal Section of the Department of Civil Rights Division. Nat finds herself caught between the radical family she was born into and the professional family she has chosen.

The Tony Award-winning actress, who has a recurring role on The Good Wife, joins the previously cast Phylicia Rashad. Rose is also well-known for her role in the 2006 film Dreamgirls.

Rene Balcer will write and executive-produce with Patterson, Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout, Berry Welsh and Ava DuVernay, who will also helm the pilot.
