Wilmer Valderrama has been cast in the Fox drama pilot Minority Report.

EW has confirmed that Valderrama will play a police detective in this small-screen version of Steven Spielberg’s 2002 sci-fi film, which starred Tom Cruise as a cop who worked with Precog seers to stop crimes before they happened.

Valderrama is currently co-starring in El Rey Network’s drama series From Dusk Til Dawn, which is in its second season.

Minority Report, which has been in development since September 2014, is set 10 years after the events of the film, which ended with law enforcement’s Precrime division being dismantled.

In the show, one Precog, who is still plagued by her visions, teams up with a female detective (Meagan Good) who is haunted by her past.

Stark Sands recently landed the leading role as twin precogs.

Max Borenstein will write and executive-produce the project with Kevin Falls, Justin Falvey, and Darryl Frank.
