CBS announced its full slate of programming summer on Thursday, including the Thursday, July 2 at 10 p.m. start of the Stephen King novel-turned-TV series Under the Dome. Joining the Domers is Emmy Award winner Marg Helgenberger, who will guest star in an extended story arc, starting with the premiere.

The network also revealed the debut of a new series based on a bestselling book: Zoo, based on James Patterson’s work. Per CBS, “a wave of violent animal attacks against humans begin taking place across the globe. As the assaults become more cunning, coordinated and ferocious, a young renegade biologist (James Wolk) is thrust into the race to unlock the pandemic’s mystery before there’s no place left for people to hide.” The show also stars Kristen Connolly, Billy Burke, Nonso Anozie, and Nora Arnezeder and will air its pilot on Tuesday, June 30 at 9 p.m.

Rounding out original summer programming is the second season of the Halle Berry-starred Extant, throwing the Oscar winner back into her Sci-Fi environs. Season two kicks off on Wednesday, July 1 at 10 p.m. Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins the crew as a new cast member.

As for reality staples Big Brother, that launches with a two-night premiere on June 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. before heading to its usual Thursday slot on July 2 at 9 p.m. The Sunday edition begins on June 28 at 8 p.m.
