'The LEGO Movie Sequel' brings on 'Community' director Rob Schrab
The LEGO Movie Sequel hopes to live up to its predecessor’s level of awesome by bringing on Community and The Mindy Project director Rob Schrab, Warner Bros. announced Tuesday.
Schrab will be directing from a script written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who wrote and directed the first film.
“We are so excited to collaborate with Rob. He is a comedy genius, a visual savant, and we have been stalking him for years,” Lord and Miller said in a joint statement. “People who know him are slapping their foreheads today and saying, ‘Of course!'”
The LEGO Movie Sequel is just one piece of Warner Bros planned LEGO film franchise, which includes the upcoming Ninjago slated for a Sept. 23, 2016, release, and the untitled Batman LEGO feature, due in theaters May 2017.
