“FourFiveSeconds” was a treat in its departure from Rihanna’s usual fare, and now she’s delivered another welcome surprise. Rihanna debuted a new song Tuesday from the Home soundtrack, the Dreamworks-produced, animated feature film in theaters March 27th. Poppy, anthemic, just slightly R&B tinged, but generally wispier than fans might be used to, the gospel choir-backed “Towards the Sun” is linked below.

Rihanna voices the main character, Tip, in the film based on Adam Rex’s critically acclaimed children’s book The True Meaning of Smekday, and she curated the soundtrack. This is the first track off the collection, due out March 17, which reportedly features Jennifer Lopez (who is also in the film), Charli XCX, and EDM darling Kiesza. Jim Parsons and Steve Martin star alongside Rihanna and Lopez.

Rihanna’s next solo album, executive produced by maybe tour-mate Kanye West, is expected sooner rather than later this year.
