Jason Biggs not returning for 'Orange Is the New Black' season 3
Whether the next season of Orange Is the New Black is the biggest one yet, it definitely won’t be the Biggs-iest.
EW can confirm that Jason Biggs will not appear in the upcoming third season of Netflix’s Orange is the New Black. The actor originally spoke to the New York Daily News and revealed that his character Larry Bloom will not be making an appearance.
“They’re not focusing on Larry at the moment,” Biggs said to the Daily News. “Larry will not be in season three. But there’s always a possibility he can come back.”
Larry was Piper Chapman’s (Taylor Schilling) fiance at the outset of the show, but as Orange continued to direct its focus around what was happening too many of the inmates inside the Litchfield Federal Penitentiary, Larry became less integral to many of those plots. Particularly in season 2, Larry’s storyline focused around his relationship with Piper’s friend Polly, which had little actual effect on the storylines developing inside the prison.
The third season of Orange Is the New Black does not currently have a debut date, but is expected to hit Netflix sometime later this year.
Jenji Kohan’s absorbing ensemble dramedy, based on Piper Kerman’s memoir of the same name, takes viewers inside the walls of Litchfield, a minimum security women’s prison where nothing’s as simple as it seems—especially the inmates.
