  • Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids, The Goldbergs) will star opposite Nicolas Cage in Army of One, a satirical comedy loosely based on a GQ article. The movie tells the larger-than-life, but true story of Gary Faulkner, a Colorado construction worker who travels to Pakistan 11 times, in an attempt to capture Osama Bin Laden himself.   • Demi Lovato has signed on to voice the female lead and executive produce the music score for the animated feature Charming. The film reimagines the tales of Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty after they discover they are all engaged to the same Prince Charming. It will be the first film in a series of four slated by 3QU Media to have budgets under $20 million. [Variety]
  • Timothy Olyphant (Justified) is in negotiations to join Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley in the Oliver Stone-helmed Edward Snowden film. Olyphant would play a CIA agent who befriends Snowden before he flees to Russia to seek asylum. [Deadline]
  • Best Supporting Actress nominee Laura Dern (Wild) is in talks to join Michelle Williams in Kelly Reichardt’s next film, which has just cast Jared Harris and James Le Gros. The untitled indie film is based on short stories by Maile Meloy and will be scripted by Reichardt.
