Rapper/producer Voli has spent the past few years building buzz with beats and features on tracks by a number of other artists—most notably J. Cole. But with his ambitious upcoming debut LP The Wall, he’s looking to establish himself as a solo artist with a broad enough reach to transcend the limitations of genre. Voli describes the album as being influenced as much by classic rock and prog as hip-hop, and the new single “DNA” proves how serious he is—with its overdriven riffage and big-ass drums, it’s got as more in common with Led Zep than anything on rap radio.

The Wall is out Feb. 24 and is available for pre-order now.
