We already knew Tom Hanks would be returning as Robert Langdon in Inferno, but it is now official that Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, and Sidse Babett Knudsen will be joining him, as Columbia Pictures announced the film’s supporting cast Tuesday.

The film, based on the book by Dan Brown, continues the adventures of Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon. A brief synopsis was released by Columbia along with the casting announcement:

“When Robert Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks, a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s Inferno.”

Jones, currently an Oscar nominee for Best Actress in The Theory of Everything, will star opposite Hanks as Dr. Sienna Brooks. Khan (Slumdog Millionaire, Life of Pi) will play Harry Sims, also known as The Provost. Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past) will portray Christoph Bruder. And Knudsen, star of the Danish television series Borgen, will play Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, head of the World Health Organization.

Inferno director/producer Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer, behind 2009’s The Da Vinci Code, are still in talks with other internationally known actors for major roles.

Principal photography on Inferno will begin at the end of April, and the film is set for an Oct. 14, 2016, release.
