Casting Net: Gina Carano, T.J. Miller join Ryan Reynolds in 'Deadpool'

- Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6) and T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley) will be joining the superhero action movie Deadpool. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, an assassin dying of cancer who undergoes a procedure to cure himself, but instead leaves him twisted and scarred, but with superpowers. Miller will bring comedic relief to the movie in an undisclosed role, while Carano will portray Angel Dust, a character who was part of an underground mutant group in the Marvel comics. - Ben Schnetzer (Pride, The Book Thief) has joined the Oliver Stone project based on the story of Edward Snowden. Production is expected to start this spring, with Stone directing from a script he adapted from the book Time of the Octopus. [Variety]
- Ana De Armas (Knock Knock) will be starring opposite Miles Teller and Jonah Hill in Arms And The Dudes, which begins production this month. The story is about two friends who team up as young adults to become successful international arms dealers, and get in over their heads. [Deadline]
- Diane Kruger will play the female lead opposite Bryan Cranston in the thriller The Infiltrator. Production will begin shortly on the film, which revolves around a customs and excise agent (Cranston) and his undercover alias. [Deadline]
