Grammy-nominated artist Florence Welsh announced that Florence + The Machine’s third studio album, How Big How Blue How Beautiful, is coming June 2, 2015 on Republic Records. The title, unpacked, refers to the experience of releasing, promoting, and supporting Florence + The Machine’s first two records, Lungs (2009) and Ceremonials (2011).

Big refers to how big life had become. Blue, to feeling disconnected (and then reconnecting) to “normal” life. And beautiful, to the collection at hand. The album is produced by Markus Dravs, who’s worked with the likes of Björk, Arcade Fire, and Coldplay, with contributions from Paul Epworth, Kid Harpoon, and John Hill. In a statement, Welsh says of Dravs, “Markus has done a few Arcade Fire albums and he’s done Björk’s Homogenic, which is a huge record for me. And I felt he had that balance of organic and electronic capabilities, managing those two worlds…I wanted to make something that was big but that had a gentleness to it. That had a warmth, that was rooted. I think that’s why we went back more to the live instruments. Something that was band-led almost.”

The first single, “What Kind of Man” is currently available on iTunes. Check out the video below. The album can be preordered here.
