Selma director Ava DuVernay is taking her talents to the small screen to direct CBS’ For Justice pilot.

For Justice is based on James Patterson’s The Thomas Berryman Number, a novel about an FBI agent bouncing between her blood family and her professional one.

Onetime Law & Order producer Rene Balcer is set to write and executive produce the series alongside Patterson, Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, Bill Robinson, and Leopoldo Gout.

DuVernay directed a third season episode of ABC’s Scandal and created an upcoming TV series titled Queen Sugar for OWN. More recently, she nabbed a Golden Globe nomination for Selma.
