  • Warner Bros. is in negotiations to get the movie rights to the upcoming book Orphan X and have Bradley Cooper produce and possibly star in the film. The thriller follows Evan Smoak, a “Nowhere Man” who helps others, sometimes through violent means. A job will draw him into the world of human slavery, which is engineered by a detective of the Los Angeles Police Department. The author, Gregg Hurwitz, will pen the screenplay.   • Robert Pattinson and Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones) have been added to the cast of the thriller Brimstone. Starring alongside Mia Wasikowska and Guy Pearce, Pattinson will play an outlaw who has a crucial influence on this story of retribution, and Wasikowska a heroine on the run from her past pursued by a diabolical preacher (Pearce). The film will start principal photography in May. [Variety]
  • The once rugby star, now Australian TV star, Steve Peacocke, has been cast opposite Tina Fey and Margot Robbie in the film based on Kim Barker’s memoir Taliban Shuffle. Fey will play a journalist and adrenaline junkie who tells the story of her six years reporting from the Middle East. Peacocke is set to play her “alpha-male Kiwi bodyguard who has the hots for her.” [Deadline]
