Katy Perry gets her own mobile game, just like Kim Kardashian
Katy Perry will be partnering with Glu Mobile Inc., the developers of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, to create a new free-to-play mobile game featuring the pop icon, the company announced Wednesday.
The game will feature Perry’s voice, likeness, and personality, and “introduce players to a digital playground of global success and talent.”
The singer has signed a five-year, exclusive mobile gaming partnership with the company, and Glu CEO Niccolo de Masi said in a statement that her significant global audience and large social media presence “will make her a strong gaming partner.”
Perry’s recent performance during the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show —which involved now-iconic dancing sharks and a giant robotic tiger—saw an audience of more than 118 million people, making it the most-watched halftime show ever.
“Katy is arguably the most recognized musician in America following her Super Bowl XLIX Halftime performance this past Sunday,” de Masi said. “She is a cultural icon and we expect to translate key elements of her success into an innovative, highly entertaining mobile experience.”
The game is expected to launch worldwide in late 2015 for both iOS and Android.
