Explaining the myriad joys of Archer to newbies is always kind of a challenge. Sure, the spy agency premise and globe-trotting protagonist are riffing on James Bond, but over five seasons and change, Archer has managed to expand into a loving satire of the entire action movie genre. Just last season, the characters took a break from the spy game to become a cocaine cartel. They failed spectacularly. One of them even tried to launch a country music career, which resulted in a Latin American coup that also involved clones and nuclear warheads. And that was just one episode. The new season of Archer, which premiered in January, sees the gang return to spying, this time without their unfortunate ISIS moniker but with the crude humor and rapid-fire references intact.

Who better to explain this adrenaline rush of a show than its cast? In the above EW video, Archer’s crew of accomplished voice actors (including H. Jon Benjamin, Judy Greer, and Jessica Walter) do their best to explain the show’s mishmash of genres and references in 30 seconds or less. Everything they say is crazy and silly, and all of it has happened during the show’s five-years-and-counting run.
