Marvel’s Jessica Jones is getting some help from one of Hollywood’s most memorable female cinematic action performers. Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix trilogy) has been cast in AKA Jessica Jones as “a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica — if Jessica doesn’t completely alienate her first.”

The Marvel series will debut on Netflix later this year and stars Krysten Ritter as the super-powered title character. Moss joins a couple other recently announced cast members in the show — David Tennant (Doctor Who) as the villainous Kilgrave and Rachael Taylor (Grey’s Anatomy) as Jones’ pal Hellcat.

The 13-episode debut season of Jessica Jones is part of Marvel’s multi-series deal with the streaming service that starts with the launch of Daredevil on April 10. Moss most recently appeared in the short-lived CBS series Vegas and the NBC internationally produced series Crossing Lines.
