Hear the Record of the Year nominees—as sung by Jefferson Mays' Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder characters
- Stage
On Broadway, Jefferson Mays plays multiple members of the ill-fated D’Ysquith family in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. However, for the following video he has traded the songs from the Tony-winning musical for the song’s nominated for Record of the Year at the Grammys.
As various members of the D’Ysquith clan, Mays sings Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” and Sia’s “Chandelier.” Ezekial D’Ysquith out-does Swift in the awkward-dance-moves category.
Of course, A Gentleman’s Guide is also a Grammy nominee for Best Musical Theater Album. It is nominated alongside the albums for Aladdin, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and West Side Story with The San Francisco Symphony.
