J.C. Chandor, of All Is Lost and most recently A Most Violent Year, will not direct Deepwater Horizon, a film about the BP oil spill,  EW has confirmed. Deadline first reported the news, citing “creative differences” for Chandor’s decision.

Mark Wahlberg is attached to star in the project.  A replacement for Chandor is already being lined up: Peter Berg, Wahlberg’s Lone Survivor director, is in talks.

Chandor talked about his plans for the film recently with Collider.

The film has a September 30, 2016 release date.
