Chris Pratt’s busy schedule just got busier. Variety reports that Universal is in talks with David Leitch and Chad Stahelski to helm Cowboy Ninja Viking, the franchise-baiting graphic novel adaptation that would star Chris Pratt as an assassin with the incredible abilities of a cowboy, a viking, and a ninja. Leitch and Stahelski are the filmmakers behind 2014’s John Wick, the action movie where Keanu Reeves played an assassin with the incredible ability to kill everybody, all the time. (It was pretty good.)
A representative for Universal had no comment when contacted by EW, but Leitch and Stahelski are in-demand—John Wick made over $70 million off a relatively trim $20 million budget. Universal has fewer major franchises than other studios, so it seem likely that they’re hoping to fast-track Cowboy Ninja Viking before Pratt goes off to film Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
