Out goes a clone, in comes a reformed Mean Girl.

Amanda Seyfried will make her Off-Broadway acting debut opposite Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom, Wild) in Neil LaBute’s newest drama, The Way We Get By. She replaces Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, who withdrew from the previously-announced production due to film scheduling conflicts.

The world premiere from LaBute follows Beth and Doug, two successful-in-romance people who wake up together after a drunken wedding reception and ponder “how much they really know about each other and how much they really care about what other people think.”

Seyfried has performed at the 66th Tony Awards and has appeared in a few big-screen musicals—she starred in 2008’s Mamma Mia! and 2012’s Les Miserables—but the play will mark her Off-Broadway stage debut.

The Leigh Silverman-directed production will begin previews on April 28, 2015 and open May 20 at New York’s Second Stage Theatre.
