Death Cab for Cutie’s first single from their upcoming Kintsugi is here, and it’s just what you’d expect from the Seattle-bred band—but with more synths.

“Black Sun” features characteristically melancholy lyrics like “How could something so fair be so cruel” sung over downtempo instrumentation that sounds fit for 2008’s Narrow Stairs. This is their first single since founding member Chris Walla left the band in August.

Kintsugi comes out March 31, and their tour begins just over a week later in Arizona. See the tour dates below:
