'Rick and Morty' comic book preview: An exclusive first look at the cover and the first six pages of issue no. 1
- TV Show
The second season of Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s hilariously odd animated show Rick and Morty won’t be airing on Adult Swim until the summer. But luckily, there are ways to get your fix in the meantime. On April 1, Oni Press will release the first issue of the new Rick and Morty comic book, which is written by Zac Gorman, illustrated by CJ Cannon and colored by Ryan Hill.
The book will further extend the adventures of time-traveling mad scientist Rick and his over-matched grandson Morty. The first issue goes on sale April 1, though visitors attending the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle will get an early shot at it the weekend before. But if you don’t have access to a time machine and absolutely must have your Rick and Morty now, EW has got you covered. The cover of issue #1 is above, and the first six pages of the book are below in still-penciled form. As you can see, Gorman and Cannon have perfectly captured the insane spirit and skewed visual style of the show.
