Darren Shahlavi of 'Arrow,' 'Mortal Kombat: Legacy' dies at 42

Darren Shahlavi, an actor and martial artist who had roles on Arrow and in the web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy, died at the age of 42 on Jan. 14, according to Los Angeles County coroner assistant chief Ed Winter. According to Winter, the cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology and additional tests. TMZ has reported that he died of an overdose.

According to Variety, Shahlavi moved to Hong Kong in the 1990s where he worked as a stuntman. His other credits include I Spy, Watchmen, the TV movie Aladdin and the Death Lamp, and Ip Man 2.
