The Ron Howard-directed In the Heart of the Sea—a film that, among other things, features Chris Hemsworth being mauled by a whale—has pushed been pushed back nine months to premiere during the heart of awards season.

While it was originally slated for a March 13, 2015, release, Warner Bros. announced on Wednesday that the action thriller based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s 2000 novel of the same name will now premiere on Dec. 11. In addition to Hemsworth, the film, based on the real-life crew of the whaleship Essex, also stars Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, and Tom Holland.

Taking In the Heart of the Sea‘s place on March 13 is the Liam Neeson-starring Run All Night, which was originally slated for April 17.
