Embers is the closing night film at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, and features five interwoven stories that take place a decade after a global neurological epidemic has resulted in a world without memory. In one of those tales, a pair of lovers, played by Jason Ritter and Iva Gocheva, struggle to stay together, afraid that if they are separated, they will forget each other forever.

Written and directed by firsttime filmmaker Claire CarréEmbers will screen at the Treasure Mountain Inn, 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 28.
