'The Blacklist' enlists David Strathairn, Janel Moloney, Gloria Reuben for Super Bowl two-parter
- Movie
The Blacklist is stocking up on guest stars for its upcoming two-parter that kicks off following the Super Bowl.
EW has learned exclusively that David Strathairn and Janel Moloney will appear in the post-Super Bowl episode, while Gloria Reuben will appear in in the second part, which airs on The Blacklist’s new night on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
The Emmy-winning Strathairn (Bourne Ultimatum, Alphas) will play the recurring role of The Director, the high-powered and secretive leader of the US National Clandestine Service. His true identity is known only by those at the highest levels of the Agency.
Moloney (The West Wing, Alpha House) will play Kat Goodson, the elegant, self-confident and cold liaison to the Director of NCS. Kat will visit the team at the “Post Office” to obtain more information about their deal with Reddington (James Spader).
Reuben (ER, Raising the Bar) will guest-star as Dr. Selma Orchard, an expert at retrieving subconscious memories whose services are “requested” by the Super Bowl episode’s big bad, Luther Braxton (Ron Perlman).
Fun fact: Strathairn and Reuben both appeared alongside Spader in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, as well as David Costabile, who portrayed Blacklister Dr. Linus Creel earlier this season.
