Everyone was looking quite sweaty at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, but it turns out a lack of air conditioning wasn’t the reason.

Vanity Fair initially reported that the air conditioning in the Beverly Hilton, where the Globes took place, was not on, but a spokeswoman from the venue told EW Monday that “the air conditioning … was fully operational during last night’s event and [they] were not alerted to any issues with the temperature by event guests.”

Even with the air conditioning on though, the combination of hundreds of people in one room and the many harsh lights required to put on the show likely made for a stuffy atmosphere—so stuffy that The Hollywood Reporter said one male attendee “passed out at his table” as a result of the hot lights.
