MTV has pulled the plug on Happyland after one season, EW has confirmed.
The polarizing series, which took place at a Disneyland-like theme park, told the story of the cynical daughter of the park’s leading princess, who ends up falling for the park owner’s son—only then to learn that he is actually her half-brother.
In truth, they weren’t actually related, but it seems the near-incest kept viewers from coming back. The series averaged an anemic 370,000 viewers and a .2 in the 18-49 demographic. The show’s lead-ins, Awkward and Faking It, were both already renewed.
