Shia LaBuff—uh, LaBeouf—has bared all for a music video before: He and his front stuff starred in Sigur Rós’ “Fjögur Píanó,” and now he’s done it again (kind of) for Sia’s latest music video, which features the actor and “Chandelier” dancer Maddie Ziegler wearing the nude-colored bare minimum and aggressively dancing it out in a human-sized birdcage.
Many of their movements look Exorcist–inspired, while others mirror animals going at each other in a zoo. A lot of them are oddly sexual, which is uncomfortable, to say the least, given that Ziegler is 12 and LaBeouf 28.
But some cues in the video indicate that their relationship isn’t meant to look like one between peers, but perhaps one between father and daughter: At one point, LaBeouf holds Ziegler in his arms and makes goofy faces at her as if he’s playing with an easily amused newborn.
The music then cuts out before the video actually ends, and it leaves Ziegler trying her best to get LaBeouf out of the cage in a completely silent—and surprisingly powerful—final moment.
“Elastic Hearts” is the third single from Sia’s 1000 Forms of Fear.
