Before Benedict Cumberbatch and Eddie Redmayne compete against each other at the Golden Globes, Discovery Channel will show Cumberbatch performing what this year became Redmayne’s role: Stephen Hawking.

In honor of Hawking’s 73rd birthday, Discovery will air Hawking, the 2004 BBC TV movie starring Cumberbatch as the famed theoretical physicist, on Saturday at 10 p.m. Cumberbatch was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for his portrayal.

The next evening at the Globes, Cumberbatch’s performance as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game will go up against Redmayne’s interpretation of Hawking in The Theory of Everything in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama category.
