Dustin Diamond faces felony charge for stabbing incident
Saved by the Bell‘s Dustin Diamond was arrested Friday for allegedly stabbing a man in Port Washington, Wis. He is now facing charges of recklessly endangering safety (a felony), carrying a concealed weapon, and disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint obtained by EW, Diamond was at a bar with his fiancée, Amanda Schutz, when he noticed Schutz “was bleeding and that two men were holding her by the hair.” He told officers that he then went toward Schutz and a man grabbed him, so Diamond responded by grabbing “the person’s arm and [moving] it up and around” while the knife was in his hand.
Diamond said “the weapon was meant to be a deterrent to free his fiancée” and that he “did not intentionally stab the individual in the bar.” An officer saw the victim soon after the incident and noted a small, half-inch puncture wound under the victim’s armpit.
If convicted, Diamond could face thousands of dollars in fines (up to $36,000) and up to about 11 years in prison.
Diamond’s rep has not responded to EW’s request for comment.
