Get a ton of Star Wars comics on sale before they disappear next week
For 23 years, Dark Horse has been the exclusive publisher of all Star Wars comics, telling all manner of stories set in a galaxy far, far away. But now that Disney owns all things Star Wars, the Dark Horse era of Star Wars comics is coming to an end—and on January 1, 2015, the publisher will no longer be allowed to sell any of its hundreds of Star Wars comics. So the publisher is saying goodbye with a huge sale.
As spotted by Kotaku (where you’ll also find a few good recommendations as to which Star Wars comics are worth your while), Dark Horse’s digital store is having a giant Star Wars Farewell Sale, with every single comic available for 50% off (0r $300 for the whole lot of them). You’ve got until 2 a.m. January 1st, 2015 to buy them. After that, it’s a wrap—although you’ll still be able to download titles you’ve already purchased.
These stories aren’t all going away forever, though. In addition to the three brand-new, in-continuity comics that Marvel will launch in the coming year, the publisher will be reprinting Dark Horse’s Star Wars comics under the Legends imprint—the catch-all banner for all the Expanded Universe stories that are no longer canon.
