Jimmy Fallon, One Direction play classic song on classroom instruments

The members of One Direction donned (adorably) ugly Christmas sweaters to play “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots on classroom instruments Monday night. Though the clip maybe doesn’t quite match the awesomeness of the classroom instrument “All I Want For Christmas Is You” with Mariah Carey, it’s still a worthy installment in this series.

The group follows the Jackson 5 arrangement of the song, with an added One Direction reference. Zayn plays the triangle, Liam plays the coconuts, and Harry’s hair plays a supporting role. One Direction: The TV Special airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
