Jordi Molla joins cast of 'Ant-Man'
Thanks to a plot synopsis of Ant-Man, another actor’s involvement in the film, as well as the names of a few characters have been revealed.
Of course, in typically cryptic Marvel fashion, the studio has only released the first names of these supporting characters.
Jordi Mollà, a Spanish actor who American audiences would most recently recognize from Riddick or Colombiana, has been revealed as part of Ant-Man‘s cast, according to a new synopsis of the film released by Marvel. Mollà will play a character named Castillo, but who or what Castillo is remains a mystery.
Marvel’s synopsis also reveals the first names of a few other characters for previously announced actors in the film. Rapper Tip “T.I.” Harris plays Dave, David Dastmalchian will star as Kurt, and Wood Harris is playing a character named Gale.
These names don’t immediately ring any bells as major Marvel players, so they very well could be original characters or adaptations of other existing characters in the Ant-Man corner of Marvel’s universe.
Ant-Man, directed by Peyton Reed, is scheduled for a July 17, 2015 release, with Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Hopefully a trailer can be expected soon to clear up some of these characters’ identities, as Reed announced the film had completed principal photography on Dec. 6.
