“Every Breath You Take” remains one of the creepiest pop songs, which makes it the perfect score for this unnerving trailer for The Americans‘ upcoming third season.

The trailer introduces Frank Langella as Philip and Elizabeth Jennings’ new handler, who intones, “don’t let your conscience get us killed.” At least some of the action of this season is placed in November 1982 with the announcement of the death of Leonid Brezhnev, but at the Jennings’s home there is conflict brewing over the spies’ daughter Paige, following up on the season finale shocker that the Center wants to convert her to Soviet spy ways.

As for other developments revealed in the trailer, FBI agent Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) appears to be is still fixated on Nina Sergeevna (Annet Mahendru), who was sent to Moscow at the end of last season, facing an ominous fate. Also, naturally, there are more excellent wigs.

FX’s period drama—starring Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys—explores the the Cold War 1980s through the professional and personal lives of the Jennings family.
