Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson shook it off at Sunday’s TrevorLIVE benefit, taking on, naturally, Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” The full number from the Broadway vet started out slowly, but it ended with Ferguson undoing his tie and launching into some coordinated dance moves (obviously).

“If there’s anything that I learned from my 1989 it’s that—well, I was a 14-year-old closeted gay kid in Albuquerque, New Mexico in a Catholic school—so I learned to not care what people think, to be the courage to be who I wanted to be and right now I want to be a country to pop crossover sensation,” Tyler explained.

But was Swift into it? Yes. Emphatically.

But was Ferguson’s better than Kelly Clarkson’s? You be the judge.
