In a rare, partly raunchy and partly profound interview from 1991, Robin Williams was asked what the world would be like in the year 2020.

Williams answered the question with his signature comedic tangents, an answer that seems bittersweet in the months since his death.

PBS’s Blank on Blank series animated the never-before-heard interview by writer Lawrence Grobel, where the actor shared insights on the future, the birth of his children, and explaining the role of being an artist in society as “the premise that comedy is there to basically show us we fart, we laugh. To make us realize we still are part animal.”

Take a listen to the entire interview and hear Williams talk about his observations on life.
