Krysten Ritter nabs lead in Marvel's Netflix series 'Jessica Jones'
Marvel's Daredevil
- TV Show
Even though Marvel’s first Netflix series is still a ways off, the lead for its second one has already been cast.
EW has confirmed that Krysten Ritter, formerly of Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23 and Breaking Bad, has been cast as Jessica Jones, the eponymous hero of the second Marvel series to come to Netflix following Daredevil next year.
Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos in their 2001 comic Alias (of no relation to the TV show), Jessica Jones is a former superhero known as Jewel who, for reasons unknown at first, quits hero work to set up shop as a private investigator. Her boyfriend—and later husband—is Luke Cage. You’ll be getting to know Cage pretty well at some point, as he’s another one of the Marvel heroes who’ll be getting a Netflix series in the near future.
