'Kroll Show' to end in 2015

Liz G. got to put her job as one-half of Kroll Show‘s fictional PR team, PubLizity, to good use today: In a video announcement, Liz (played by Kroll) announced that the Comedy Central show’s next season will be its last.

“I just want to say on behalf of all the characters from Kroll Show, thank you for watching, and we hope you enjoy this final season of Kroll Show,” Liz said between tears. “And this isn’t a joke or a prank show like Ashram Kitchen.”

Kroll, who also stars on The League, created Kroll Show in 2013. The comedy features sketches with recurring characters, including the PubLizity team (made up of Kroll and Obvious Child‘s Jenny Slate) and Bobby Bottleservice—and these characters are part of the reason Kroll decided to end the show.

“As we started to get towards the end of the season, it just became clear that we wrapped up a lot of the stories and characters that we had created, and felt like we had brought a number of them to their natural conclusion,” he told Vulture.

“It’s a weird thing to end a show when it’s still working,” he said. “And to be honest, it’s a little scary, but it just felt like the right thing to do at this moment.”
